Cookie policy for truescreen.io

Version 1.0, last updated on 4 October 2026.

1. Who we are

The truescreen.io website is run by TrueScreen Srl, Via della Zecca 1, 40121 Bologna, Italy, VAT number IT03920081209, which is the data controller for the data collected through the cookies described here.

If you have questions about this policy or want to exercise your rights, write to customersupport@truescreen.app.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser and reads again on later visits. Other technologies work in a similar way, such as the browser’s local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) and pixels: in this policy we call them all cookies.

Some cookies are set by us (first-party cookies), others by external providers whose services are present on the site (third-party cookies).

3. The categories we use

Category What it is for Legal basis
Necessary Making the site work and remembering your cookie choice No consent is needed: they are essential to provide you with the site (Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code)

These cookies are also used to build profiles of your interests (profiling) Your consent (Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code and Article 6.1.a GDPR)

The Analytics and Marketing categories are optional: you can refuse them with no effect on your use of the site. Until you give your consent, the services in these categories stay blocked.

For Google services we use Google Consent Mode: we pass your choice on to Google and, if you do not give your consent, its tools are not loaded.

Some providers are located, or may access data, outside the European Economic Area, in particular in the United States. These transfers take place with the safeguards provided for by the GDPR: an adequacy decision of the European Commission, including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for providers that have signed up to it, or standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. You can ask for information about the safeguards applied and for a copy of the clauses by writing to customersupport@truescreen.app.

For third-party cookies, each provider processes and retains the data under its own privacy policy, which we refer you to.

You can also manage the ads you see directly with the providers:

6. How to give, change or withdraw your consent

On your first visit the site shows you a banner with two options: accept all or “Customize”, where you can reject all or choose category by category. Until you make a choice, non-necessary cookies stay blocked. Scrolling the page or continuing to browse does not count as consent.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page. When you withdraw your consent, we delete the first-party cookies and the data stored in your browser by the withdrawn categories. Third-party cookies stay in your browser until you delete them or until they expire.

We remember your choice for 6 months. We show you the banner again before then only if the cookies or providers described in this policy change.

You can also block or delete cookies from your browser settings. If you block all cookies, some parts of the site may not work. Instructions for the most common browsers:

  • Chrome: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
  • Safari: https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/sfri11471/mac
  • Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/clear-cookies-and-site-data-firefox
  • Edge: https://support.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge/delete-cookies-in-microsoft-edge-63947406-40ac-c3b8-57b9-2a946a29ae09

7. The record of choices

To be able to demonstrate consent, as required by Article 7 GDPR, we record every choice made on the banner: the random code of the choice, the date and time, the action (accept all, reject all or save preferences), the outcome for each category, the version of the banner and the language. The record does not contain your IP address or any data that directly identifies you. Like every request to the site, sending the choice leaves the IP address in the server’s technical logs, which are kept for 12 months.

The legal basis is the obligation to demonstrate consent (Article 6.1.c and Article 7.1 GDPR). We keep each entry for 24 months, then delete it. The record is stored on the servers that host the site, at Amazon Web Services in Frankfurt (Germany), which acts as our data processor.

This record covers only cookie choices made on the site. Evidence of consents given in the apps, in Portal and in the other TrueScreen services is governed by the privacy policy of the services.

8. Your rights

You can ask us for access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, and you can withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out. To exercise your rights, write to customersupport@truescreen.app.

If you believe that the processing breaches the GDPR, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the supervisory authority of the country where you live or work.

For other processing of personal data on the site, such as contact forms, the site’s privacy policy applies, available in the footer.

9. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the cookies or providers on the site change. Each version shows its number and date at the top. If the changes concern cookies that require consent, we ask you for your choice again through the banner.
