Open the page and choose the mode

Go to the web page, social media post or online content you need to certify, including pages behind a login. Click the TrueScreen icon and choose Screenshot or Video recording.

What is the difference between a regular screenshot and a TrueScreen certification?
A regular screenshot is an image file with no proof of when, where or how it was taken, and it can be edited without leaving a trace. A TrueScreen certification captures the screenshot together with a complete web archive (MHTML), fingerprints of the page, page metadata and security state. The package is sealed with an official digital seal and a qualified timestamp, so any later change is detectable.
Can a certification be used in court?
Content certified with TrueScreen is certified evidence you can present in legal proceedings. Every certification includes a qualified electronic seal and a qualified timestamp under the eIDAS framework, and the forensic report documents the chain of custody from capture to certification. The court assesses its weight case by case.
Which browsers are supported?
The Browser Extension is available for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, from the Chrome Web Store and Microsoft Edge Add-ons.
Can I certify pages that require login?
Yes. The extension works in your own browser, with the sessions you already have open. If you are signed in and can see the content, you can certify it, as a screenshot of the visible area or of the full page, or as a video recording of the tab.
Is the extension free?

Do I need a TrueScreen account?
Yes. You can sign in with email and password, Google, Apple, Microsoft or your company SSO. If you do not have an account, you can create one for free in the TrueScreen Portal.
What is the difference between the Browser Extension and the Forensic Browser?
The Browser Extension certifies web pages from the browser you already use, as a screenshot or as a video recording of the tab. The Forensic Browser is a desktop application that starts every session from a clean environment, records the network log and can acquire whole sites automatically. Use the extension when what matters is the content and its time; use the Forensic Browser when the way the page was acquired may be disputed.
Where is my data stored?
TrueScreen stores the content of its customers on infrastructure located in the European Economic Area, as set out in the Data Processing Agreement. Your certifications are available in the TrueScreen Portal, where you can share or download them at any time.
