Questions about certified social media posts
Is a screenshot of a social media post valid as evidence?
An ordinary screenshot can be edited and does not show where the post came from. A post captured with TrueScreen is certified with its address, date and time, with a qualified electronic seal and a qualified timestamp.
Does it work for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and other social networks?
Yes. You certify posts from the social networks you open in a browser or in their app, such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube: in the browser like a web page, in the app with the screen recording.
Can I certify a private profile or a post visible only after a Login?
Yes, if you can see it with your own account. In the Forensic Browser you sign in inside the session; the Browser Extension uses the Login already open in your browser.
Can I certify direct messages on Instagram or Messenger?
Yes. On your phone, record the screen with the app while you scroll the messages. From your computer, use “Full recording” in the Forensic Browser on the web version of the service.
Can I certify the video in a post?
Yes, from your computer: open the post in the Forensic Browser and use “Media Inspector” to download and certify the video.
What if the post could be deleted?
Certify it right away with the tool you already have. The certification proves the content from the moment of capture: it cannot show what a page looked like before.
How much does it cost?
The cost depends on the type of capture and is shown before you confirm. When you sign up you get 2 free credits.
How can the recipient verify the certification?
With the ZIP package and the TrueScreen verification page: the check runs in the browser and nothing is uploaded.
