Why AI Content Detection has gained importance
In recent years:
- Deepfake-based fraud cases have grown exponentially, and financial losses are set to rise from $12.3 billion in 2023 to $40 billion by 2027, with an annual growth of 32%;
- 92% of companies have already suffered direct financial losses due to deepfakes, with an average cost per incident ranging between $450,000 and $680,000. For this reason, they are required to demonstrate that they have adopted adequate measures to manage the risks of disinformation, fraud, and improper use of GenAI in their processes;
- Regulators are intervening with regulations requiring greater transparency and detection tools for AI-generated content, as in the case of the California AI Transparency Act, which requires large platforms to make publicly accessible detection tools available.
Deepfake & GenAI Detection: everything you need to know
Here’s everything you need to know about our new feature.
What it does and when it’s needed
This new feature allows you to:
- Analyze and qualify any digital content coming from external or uncontrolled channels (images, videos, audios);
- Assess whether it has been generated or manipulated through Generative AI techniques;
- Provide a reliability indicator on the synthetic or suspicious nature of the content, useful for operational, legal, and compliance decisions.
And it proves crucial when content (received from third parties, social media, messaging, external portals, legacy systems) was not acquired and certified with TrueScreen at the source, or if you want to integrate authenticity checks into existing processes.
Multi-Agent AI Detection engine: the highest possible reliability
Since there is no single perfect algorithm to bypass all watermarking techniques and model “signatures,” we chose to use a multi-agent approach: each AI recognition engine is specialized by media type, signals, model, and use case scenario. The results from different engines are combined and cross-validated by our Multi-Agent AI Detection Engine, so that false positives and false negatives are reduced and the highest level of reliability technically achievable today is obtained.
The system analyzes:
- Visual signals: artifacts typical of generative models, inconsistencies in texture, edges, lighting, recurring patterns;
- Audio signals: vocal fingerprints, timbre anomalies, rhythm, noise, spectral detail;
- Textual signals: style patterns, repetitiveness, structures typical of language models;
- Metadata & context: inconsistencies between content and metadata, temporal anomalies, provenance information where available.
Where it’s available: Mobile App, Web, API & SDK
- TrueScreen Mobile App: upload content directly from smartphone and receive detection results.
- Web Portal: upload content from desktop, perform batch analysis, coordinate multi-team work.
- API & SDK: integrate detection functionalities into any enterprise workflow or application.
When the feature is useful: practical applications
Fraud Management & Financial Services
- Verify authenticity of selfies, videos or documents uploaded during onboarding or KYC;
- Check audio recordings for voice impersonation attempts;
- Reduce the risk of compensation or payments based on fake content.
Legal, Audit & Investigations
- Analyze digital evidence (photos, videos, screenshots, audio, documents) from third parties;
- Support technical consultations and expert assessments;
- Document authenticity assessments with TrueScreen certifications.
Assurance, Compliance & Regulation
- Comply with regulations requiring controls on AI-generated content;
- Support internal controls on supplier-produced content;
- Strengthen disinformation security programs.
Media, Communication & HR
- Evaluate UGC, reviews, social content and campaigns before publishing;
- Manage reputational incidents involving deepfakes of spokespeople;
- Support HR/security in handling manipulated content incidents.
TrueScreen: for a cutting-edge digital future
Deepfakes are already inside the daily processes of companies and professionals, even though they are very often unaware of it. And with a deepfake detection market set to grow by 37.45% annually until 2033, with 900% annual growth in manipulated content, investing in AI content detection today means being ready tomorrow: possessing this tool will become the minimum standard for every professional operation involving digital content.
We are aware that “detection” alone will not be enough. And it will become increasingly difficult, but Deepfake & GenAI Detection is a new step in our journey to help professionals, companies, and large organizations protect themselves from fraud, prevent disinformation, and (re)build trust in data.
If we cannot always control how content is created, we can however analyze it, qualify it, and consciously decide whether to trust it or not. TrueScreen is here to help you do this, with the highest technological reliability available today.
We are a Data Authenticity Platform with a dual approach:
- Forensic data acquisition and management when you can control the process end to end;
- GenAI and deepfake detection when you cannot protect the data at its source.
How to start using Deepfake & GenAI Detection
